I’d have to say C & C had it’s beginnings 15 years ago when my wife and I met. Conchita is from the
Philippines and was surrounded by orchids all of her life. We bought our 1st big box store Phalaenopsis
shortly afterward. Over the next couple of years we added a dozen more. In 2011 we attended our 1st
orchid show at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario and found an Oncidium alliance
plant, Brsdm. Gilded Urchin ‘Ontario’. A garage sale later that same year yielded a very neglected
Dendrobium Red Emperor ‘Prince’. While many others have ascended to that great jungle in the sky,
we still have those two orchids.
I suppose at that point you’d have to say the monkey had a very firm grip on my back. We now have
about 300 plants in our collection from warmth loving lowland Vanda’s to mountain dwelling, cloud
forest Pleurothallid’s. Most spend the summer outdoors and winter in the windows or under lights.
A basement grow room houses the cool growers.
After many years of interest in these wonderful plants and recognizing a need for the quality products we are
offering we have decided to open C & C Orchids. We are based in Hamilton and will be selling/shipping across
Canada. We will be adding other products in the very near future, including divisions of our own plants and
hope that you will visit us often and subscribe to our mailing list.
C & C Orchids will be selling at the Windsor Society Show October 21st-22nd 2017.
Please visit their web site for more details on the show.
